Her hands curved against the metal bar behind her knees, leaning forward a bit but still not exactly going to tip over or fall off either, it was just a lean. A pulling against her arms really more than anything, just to get that feel of tension in between her shoulders and down her spine. Her nails tapped against the metal every once and a while, the sound echoing a bit louder than she would've guessed, hitting the concrete walls and bouncing back to herself.
Biting on her lower lip she felt the nervous n her stomach tighten just a bit. Her shoes rocking back onto the heel itself before clapping back down onto the ground, a slight wince to her jaw as the sound caused the casual glance at her to twist into something of annoyance. "Sorry?"
The grumble of the guy wasn't met with much enthusiasm and she hated being there. It wasn't as bad as Hartsdale but it wasn't really good either. Hartsdale at least smelled like a hospital, sterile and clean and disinfected. This place smelled toxic and moldy and like someone had died on the bed she was sitting on.
Elle stood up immediately at that thought.
The sound of keys rattling caught her attention as did the dark hair and the near smug smirk of the man coming toward her. "This is your fault you know."
"Hey!" He shrugged at her, "How was I to know that was going to happen?"
Narrowing her gaze at him she intoned, "Gee I don't know? You're a cop? Just..." Elle let her bottom lip pout out at him, "Let me out?" Her heel rocked her ankle a bit jutting her hip and her posture along with it. "I promise to be good?"
He just laughed at her, "Elle I know you too well to know that's one helluva lie."
Sticking out her tongue at him she pushed his shoulder playfully as she moved past him, "I still say it's all your fault. I could've gotten halfway to Kirby if you hadn't caught sight of the Chief and realized that running with me wasn't exactly as convincing as running after me."
"Yeah... you gotta admit though you were damn fast. Even with the hot dog cart."
Elle beamed up at him, "I hauled ass, which was pretty much why we took the cart in the first place right?"
"Health and Safety Commission at the Service of the City."
Laughing she shook her head, "Yeah you don't sound as convincing saying that as you did shouting 'NYPD FREEZE' at me earlier. That was convincing."
"Eh, I do my best work under pressure."
Nodding matter-of-factly Elle smiled, "Duly noted... but next time we opt to save the people of Columbus Circle from the toxins of hot dogs? You get the cart because that jail cell sucked."
